Agartala Nov 10: The death toll among 10,323 teachers rises to 145 as one more sacked teacher, Sujit Debbarma, resident of Khumulwng died of heart attack on Thursday.

Reacting to the rising death toll, 10,323 teachers strongly condemned the role of state government under Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.

One of the retrenched teacher from Joint Movement Committee of 10, 323 teachers’ Kamal Deb said, “Recently Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has mentioned that 10,323 teachers jobs were not given by him or his government and therefore it is not his or his party’s responsibility to solve the matter”.

“The chief Minister has forgot the tall promises made by his party and leaderships prior to the 2018 assembly election”, added Deb.

On the other hand, according to family members of the deceased teacher, since being retrenched from service Sujit Debbarma was suffering from severe depression and also used to remain sick.

But because of poor financial condition the sacked teacher and his family could not afford any costly treatment.

Later foiling all efforts of the doctors in Khumulwng hospital, Sujit Debbarma passed away on Thursday.
