11K Tripura students to get assistance for smartphones in current FY

Agartala, Nov 01: The Tripura government has set a target to provide financial assistance to more 11,000 final-year students for buying smartphones in the current Financial Year.
Under Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogajog Yojana, the selected students from 40 educational institutions including 22 government degree colleges and two universities get Rs. 5000 each for buying smart phones.
According to Principal Secretary of IT department- Puneet Agarwal, as many as 16,645 students of the state received the benefit so far and more 11,000 students would get the benefit in the current financial year.
Fulfilling the pre-poll promise made in the vision document, the BJP-IPFT government launched the scheme in May 2020.
Meanwhile, the Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogajug Yojana gained huge popularity among the students following which the state government had increased the budgetary allocation for this scheme last year.
