
A consignment of 1200 Queen variety of pineapples grown in Taidu of Tripura’s Teliamura sub-division was delivered for New Delhi on Monday.
Thansa Organic Producer Company LTD has sold the organic pineapples to One India Organic, New Delhi through the direct cooperation and management of the SIMFED under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region, Phase-IV.
To provide financial benefit to pineapple growers of Ampi block, SIMFED having beneficial marketing linkage with the One India Organic authority has approached to assist Thansa Organic Producer. Through collaboration with the company, they have collected pineapples from Tuidu under Ampi Nagar Block.
The consignment was flagged-off from Agartala railway station.
Sources said, to avail profitable benefit for local pineapple producers Thansa Organic Producer LTD has taken this initiative through SIMFED.Â
According to farmers, one piece of queen pineapple costs Rs. 20 in the local market but farmers are gaining Rs. 30 per piece through this export management.Â
Chayanika Bhowmik, project in-charge of SIMFED, Nibash Debbarma, Superintendent of Agriculture, Ampi agri sub-division, Pinku Debbarma, ADA, TSOFDA, SARS complex A.D Nagar, West Tripura, and many others remained present.
