2nd year Aparna memorial chess Ends in success, Camilo wins title

Agartala, Aug 18: As it was expected, the second year ‘Aparna Dutta’ memorial trophy was won by Grandmaster Reuse Christine Camilo of Colombia. At the end of the tenth round, Delgado Ramirez Neuris, another chess grandmaster from Portugal, was on top with Camilo with 9 and a half points. In the end, Camilo won the Best Vocals award, beating Neuris. The second year ‘Aparna Dutta’ Memorial International Rating Chess Competition organized by Matrix Chess Academy concluded on Thursday. The 6-day event was held at NSRCC Yoga Hall with the support of Manoranjan De Trust. This morning, the tenth and last round of the game was played. Prize distribution ceremony was held in the afternoon. Tripura Sports Council secretary Amit Rakshit, HR Warrior Fitness Gym Manager BapiDey and AshitBaran Chowdhury, Chief Arbiter of the event were present. In this event, Tripura’s honor was protected by the amazing girl Arshiya Das and Devankur Banerjee. Arshiya finished ninth and Debangkur finished at 19th. Besides, no other chess player from Tripura could make it to the top 20. Uttar Pradesh’s Shubhi Gupta is the best chess player in U-12 national chess, taking the third place in the event. AbhrajyotiNath of Assam took the fourth place in vocals by getting 8 points. Bihar’s Kumar Gaurav, Bengal’s Saurin Bhattacharya, Assam’s MrinmoyRajkoa, Assam’s IftikharAlamMajumdar, Tripura’s Arshiya Das and Bengal’s SamyakDhariya occupied the fifth to tenth place in vocals by getting 7 and a half points. Besides, Tripura’s Anurag Bhattacharya is fifth among 1199 rated chess players, Rajveer Ahmed of Tripura is third among 1599 rated chess players, Arunikha Ghosh of Tripura is second among female chess players, AnabilGoswami is second among Eastern chess players, BapuDebbarma, Deepak Chauhan, Titan Debbarma among unrated chess players. DhruvajyotiRakshit, Biswajit Nag in the above 50 category, MehekdeepGope in the under-10 category, SwarndeepNath in the under-12 category took the fourth place.
