Agartala, Mar 25: The two days long 9th Annual Judicial Conclave began from Saturday in the auditorium of Tripura Judicial Academy at Agartala Narsingarh.
The Tripura Judicial Academy under the aegis of High Court of Tripura has organized the Conclave for the overall development of judiciary and legal system.
The acting Chief Justice of Tripura High Court T Amarnath Gaud has inaugurated this conclave in presence of Tripura High Court Justice Arindam Lodh, Chief Secretary J K Sinha, former Director of National Judicial Academy Professor (Dr) G Mohan Gopal, Deputy Director General of National Informatics Center Sharmistha Dasgupta, Tripura High Court Bar Association President Purushottam Roy Barman, Supreme Court advocate Sujit Ghosh and others.
Inaugurating this conclave, Acting Chief Justice of Tripura High Court T Amarnath Gaud said that the two-day long conclave would discuss the problems, needs and challenges of the judiciary.
On the other hand, the President of the Tripura High Court Bar Association Advocate Purushottom Ray Barman addressed the gathering and said that the legal rights should be delivered more appropriately to the common people.
During the conclave the Annual Report of the Tripura High Court for the financial year 2022-23 was released and this was followed by a business session, where senior advocate of Supreme Court Sujit Ghosh made a thorough discussion on “Constitutional Transformation, Constitutional Silence and Constitutional Morality”.
Discussions on ‘Conflict between Legislature and Judiciary with Special Reference to Judicial Activism’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence in the Justice Delivery System’ were also held during the business session of the conclave.
The Tripura Bar Council Chairman Ratan Dutta, Law Secretary Biswajit Palit, Tripura High Court Registrar General V Pandey, judges of various sub-divisional and district courts of the state, lawyers and law college students participated in the conclave.
