In a decisive move to curb escalating unrest, the subdivisional administration on Wednesday afternoon sealed the North District office of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) in Tripura. The action was taken under official directive to prevent further deterioration of law and order, following prolonged factional disputes within the labour organization.
Â
The sealing operation was carried out in the presence of Dharmanagar Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate David Halam, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Jayanta Karmakar, along with personnel from the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and local police.Â
Â
Speaking to the media, Halam stated that the measure was necessary to avert potential disturbances and confirmed that the office will remain closed until further notice.
Â
The decision comes in the wake of repeated tensions and disturbances across the town, stemming from internal disagreements between two rival groups within the BMS. These clashes have created an atmosphere of unease in recent weeks, prompting administrative intervention.
Â
Local residents have welcomed the move, expressing hope that the closure will help restore peace and stability in the area. The situation continues to be monitored closely by district authorities.
