Agartala girl earns PhD from IIT Madras

Agartala girl Ayantika Das has successfully earned her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. Her scholarly research centered on the complexities of brain image analysis and various neurological conditions, as confirmed by her family members.

The prestigious degree was officially granted by the institute on July 06, 2026. Her doctoral work, which explored unsupervised modeling techniques for medical diagnostics, was titled "Unsupervised Modeling of Brain Images for Analysis, Diagnosis, and Prognosis of Neurological Diseases".

The formal certificate carries the authoritative signatures of the Director, the Registrar, and the Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Madras. The document is further authenticated with the official seal of the institution, a digital QR code, and the scholar's personal photograph.

Relatives noted that the core focus of Das's academic investigation was the development of unsupervised models to assist in the identification and long-term prognosis of brain-related ailments.

Das is the daughter of advocate Alik Das and Khela Nandi. The family currently resides in Joynagar near JPC in Agartala.
