Agartala West PS arrests 13 in response to recent Durga Puja incidents

In the wake of several recent disturbances across the capital city, Police personnel from Agartala West Police Station have arrested 13 individuals linked to multiple law and order violations. The arrests follow a series of complaints lodged at the Agartala West Police Station over the past few days.

Speaking to the media, Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee detailed the nature of the incidents. He cited a violent episode during Durga Puja festivities at City Centre, where a man was brutally assaulted after confronting individuals who were allegedly harassing his wife. Another incident involved the assault of a TSR personnel, along with several other related disturbances.

“Based on these complaints, we have successfully apprehended 13 accused persons,” Chatterjee stated. “Four of them are currently in police remand and will be produced before the court once the remand period concludes. The remaining individuals, arrested yesterday, will be presented in court today for further investigation.”

Chatterjee assured continued vigilance and swift action to maintain public safety and restore order in the region.
