AGMC opening 2 new depts soon, govt approves more 3 units

Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital is all set to introduce two new departments and the government has approved three more departments, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Tapan Majumder said on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media, he said, the two new departments- Dermatology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation will be launched soon.

He further announced that the state government had also approved three other departments- Emergency, Hospital Administration and Transfusion Medicine.

According to the Principal, the AGMC is currently offering PG course with existing 97 seats while additional 83 seats have been approved. 

Besides, he said, there are 150 existing UG seats. Additional 100 seats have been approved by the Government of India. Among them, the MCI has so far given approval for 50 seats and confirmation for another 50 seats is likely to come in next one week.
