AIDWA foundation day observed at Agartala

Agartala, March 12: The state committee of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), Sunday observed the foundation day of the women’s body of the CPI(M) party here at Agartala.
The AIDWA state vice president Rama Das accompanied by other women leaders of the opposition CPI(M) and Left party marked the foundation day of the AIDWA at Agartala on Sunday.
“We are observing the foundation day of the AIDWA here at Agartala amid a complex situation prevailing in the state, where relentless fascist attacks on women and the general public are being unleashed by the BJP goons,” Rama Das told reporters on Sunday.
She said, “The fight and movement for saving Tripura from the clutches of BJP is very important in view of the struggle to save the whole country from the fascist forces.”
“The AIDWA gained its strength through its effortless movement against the atrocities on women and girls across the country,” she said, adding that the goons of the BJP party should stop the terror tactics here in Tripura and restore peace for the welfare of the people, especially women of the stage.
She however underlined the attack on the Left-Congress party delegation at Bishalgarh and said, “It was a very shameful incident that took place in Tripura where even the MPs are not safe and they are being attacked. And that way Tripura is being defamed at national level.”
“Today on this day while we observe the foundation day of AIDWA, we take oath to strengthen our movement against BJP. The more the BJP unleashes terror tactics, the more the people of this state will put their resistance against it,” she said.
