Agartala Aug 04: CNG urban buses are transporting passengers from Battala despite the district administration's order. Similar allegations have been raised by South Tripura Bus Owners Association who ply their vehicles and board passengers from the Nagerjala Bus Stand in capital city.
Allegedly, various vehicles transport southbound passengers from a temporary stand in Battala. This in turn has led to huge loss for the bus drivers in Nagerjala Bus stand.
The South Tripura Bus Owners Association approached the state government and the district administration protesting against this. They demanded that there should be only one stand at Nagerjala and not Battala. All vehicles should transport passengers from there.
Thursday, CNG urban buses were allegedly standing at Battala and transporting passengers. The leadership of South Tripura Bus and Association protested this. They made it clear that if this incident happens again, from Friday, all the vehicles of Nagerjala will stop at Battala and transport passengers.
Notably, the present District Magistrate also ordered that no vehicle can be parked in Battala area and parking can be done only inside the stand. But despite of the instructions of DM the traffic police are allegedly allowing CNG Urban buses to stand and pick up passengers from temporary stand in Battala.
The bus drivers of Nagerjala have given a 24-hour deadline to the minister and the district administration to resolve the issue.
