AMC holds key meeting ahead of Durga Puja, focus on Civic Services

Ahead of the upcoming Sharadiya festival, the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) held an important meeting to ensure improved civic services and facilities for residents during the festive season. 

The meeting was chaired by Mayor Dipak Majumder at the AMC conference hall and attended by officials from various departments and municipal corporators.

With a significant rise in footfall and traffic during the Puja days, civic infrastructure and services such as cleanliness, drinking water supply, street lighting, drainage, roads and traffic management come under additional pressure.

In this view, the meeting discussed measures to ensure that residents and visitors do not face inconvenience during the festivities.

Mayor Dipak Majumder reviewed the situation in different parts of the city with municipal officials and councillors. Particular emphasis was placed on keeping civic services active and efficient in the days leading up to the Puja as well as throughout the festive period.

The meeting also discussed maintaining essential services in key locations, areas surrounding Puja pandals and other places expected to witness large gatherings.

The AMC called for coordinated efforts among officials and elected representatives to ensure the convenience of city residents during the Sharadiya festivities. Officials and corporators were also asked to closely monitor conditions in their respective areas and take prompt action whenever necessary.

The Mayor said that the Sharadiya festival belongs to everyone and that the civic body would give top priority to preventing civic problems from affecting the festive spirit.

“People’s convenience and safety will remain our priority, and civic services will be managed accordingly throughout the festive days,” the Mayor said.

The meeting reviewed various aspects of Puja preparations and civic service management during the festival.

Emphasis was also placed on coordinated efforts involving officials and workers at all levels to keep Agartala clean, attractive and citizen-friendly while ensuring a smooth and enjoyable Sharadiya festival for all.
