New Delhi, Dec 10: With a view to galvanising the party ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Tripura, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a strategy session here on Sunday with Chief Minister Manik Saha and his deputy Jishnu Deb Barman.
Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb will also be present at the meeting of its senior state leaders convened by the BJP central leadership.
BJP national president JP Nadda will chair the meeting, a senior party leader said.
BJP's Tripura election in-charge Mahendra Singh and state unit chief Rajiv Bhattacharjee too will participate in the meeting to be held at the BJP headquarters here.
Nadda has already held one round of meeting with Bhattacharjee and discussed the party's poll preparedness for the Assembly election besides discussing organisational matters.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit to the Northeastern state on December 18 would also be discussed. He is likely to lay the foundation stone for several development projects and interact with beneficiaries of Prime Minister Awas Yojana during his visit.
The prime minister is also likely to address a rally at Vivekananda ground in Agartala to drum up support for the ruling party.
Assembly polls in Tripura are due by March next year. In the 2018 assembly elections, the BJP had won 36 of the 60 Assembly seats.
Even as the BJP went ahead with its preparations for the elections, the party's Tripura unit chief asserted "Lotus" will bloom in all the 60 seats, implying the victory of the saffron party everywhere.
"The people of the state are immensely happy with the activities, programmes, projects and schemes initiated by the BJP-led government for the last four and half years," he had told a “Karyakarta Sammelan” in Agartala recently.
