Amit Shah to address poll rallies in Tripura on Feb 6

Agartala, Feb 04: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Tripura on Sunday night and address two election rallies on Monday.
According to party sources, Shah will address two public rallies-- one at Shantirbazar school ground in South Tripura and another at Khowai district's airport ground. He is also scheduled to take part in a road show at Ashram Chowmuhani in Agartala and hold a meeting with the state BJP’s core committee before leaving the state on Monday.
The state unit of BJP geared up its preparations to offeer a rousing welcome to the Union Home Minister. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited both the grounds on Saturday and took stock of the preparations.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and some other central leaders are also scheduled to take part in BJP's election campaign in the state.
The elections to 60-member Tripura Legislative Assembly are scheduled on February 16 next while the counting of votes will take place on Mar 02. A total of 259 candidates including 29 women of various political parties are in the fray for the assembly polls.
As per the final electoral rolls published on January 5 last, there are 28,13,478 voters—14,14,576 males, 13,98,825 females and 77 third genders. The number of service voters is 10,344. There are 38,039 voters in 80+ age groups and 679 voters in above 100+ age groups.
