Agartala July 28: Anganwadi workers and helpers placed deputation to the Social Welfare Minister Santana Chakma on Thursday with various demands.
The demands include regularization, extension of service period and gratuity.
Speaking to the media persons, Tripura Anganwadi Karmi Sangh General Secretary, Manjula Chakraborty said, “Despite of several promises made by the government prior 2018 assembly polls, in these four and half years of BJP governance nothing has been done for us”.
“We demand our honorarium to be increased immediately and made Rs 18000 for the Anganwadi workers and Rs 12000 for the Anganwadi helpers”, she added.
The Anganwadi workers also alleged that the govt is violating Supreme Court’s order in regularization and gratuity like matters.
A delegation of five members handed over a copy of the supporting demands to the Minister’s office.
