Anganwadi workers held ‘Dhanyawad Rally’; expresses gratitude on hiked salary-allowances

Kalyanpur Jan 08: Anganwadi workers, helpers, Asha workers organized ‘Dhanyawad Yatra’ on Sunday to express gratitude to the state government for hike in their salaries and allowances.
A rally and meeting were held in Kalyanpur Bazaar under the initiative of BMS affiliated Asha Karmi Anganwadi Karmi and Helper Karmi Sangh.
MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury addressed the gathering of women workers at Kalyanpur Sonar Tari Mukta Manch in presence of presidents’ Soma Modak and Ruma Debnath.
BJP Kalyanpur mandal president Jiban Debnath, worker leader Chitta Debnath and Gautam Deb Roy also remained present among others.
“The salary of Anganwadi workers has been increased by Rs 600 and that of helpers by Rs 700”, said MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury.
Condemning the left era, he said, “During the Left period one had to pay commission to the left leaders if he/she got any sort of financial benefit. CPI-M cadres used to move to every house of employees and threaten them with dire consequences on not giving commission/subscription”.
“Since the formation of BJP-led government, the opposition parties have been raising questions on what BJP did for the employees, but now the opposition party leaders are silent”, he added.
He said that the government has also increased the salaries and allowances of mid-day meal workers at the same rate adding that the BJP-led government is working for overall development of all section of people in Tripura.
