Students of Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), Agartala, have brought recognition to Tripura with notable performances and selections in national-level sporting events.
In a major achievement for the school, students Tanya Chetri and Anushka Tudu have earned selection to represent Tripura in the National Women’s Under-19 T20 Tournament, which is scheduled to be held in Guwahati from October 9, 2026.
Their selection comes as recognition of their efforts and performance in cricket and marks an important opportunity for the two young players to compete at the national level.
Adding to the school’s sporting achievements, Class IV student Swarnudai Majumder has secured a Gold Medal in the 50-metre Surface Event at the National Finswimming Championship 2026, held in Pune, Maharashtra.
The performances of the young athletes have been welcomed by ARPS Agartala and Assam Rifles, with the achievements highlighting the sporting potential of students from the Northeast.
According to a press release, Assam Rifles Public School places emphasis on sports alongside academics, with students encouraged to develop discipline, leadership and competitive skills through participation in sporting activities.
The institution said such achievements reflect the importance of providing young athletes with opportunities to compete at higher levels and gain exposure to national sporting platforms.
The accomplishments of the three students are also expected to encourage other budding sportspersons to pursue their sporting ambitions.
