Agartala, Nov 06: The Tripura unit of BJP is ready to welcome Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma who is arriving in the state on Monday.
According to party sources, he is scheduled to take part in several organizational meetings with the leaders of various levels. Besides, he is also likely to join the launch of ‘Booth Vijay Abhiyan’, a campaign to spread party’s ideology up to booth level.
The visit of the Assam CM Dr. Sarma, who played an important role behind BJP’s victory in 2018 polls, is important in view of the upcoming assembly election.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday chaired an organizational meeting of BJP Tripura Pradesh in presence of central and state leaders. The meeting reportedly discussed important matters related to the next Assembly elections.
Among the state leaders, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik, MP Rajya Sabha Biplab Kumar Deb and BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee were present.
SC Morcha national president Lal Singh Arya, who arrived in the state on Sunday, Tripura’s election in-charge Dr. Mahendra Singh, party’s NE coordinator Sambit Patra, general secretary (org) for Tripura and Assam- Phanindranath Sharma were also present.
Earlier, the Chief Minister along with the SC Morcha national president participated in a Chintan Shivir at Durgabari in Bamutia.
On the other hand, the BJP state president chaired another organizational meeting on the launch of ‘Booth Vijay Abhiyan’.
