Assam Rifles, DRI seize Yaba tablets worth Rs. 8 cr in Tripura

Assam Rifles in a joint operation with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) achieved a major success against narcotics trafficking by seizing a huge consignment of Yaba tablets in Mungiakami under Khowai district on Saturday.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the security forces intercepted a Mahindra pick-up vehicle bearing registration number TR05-G-1855, leading to the recovery of approximately one lakh Yaba tablets with an estimated market value of Rs. 8 crore.

During the operation, one individual- Kauchar Hussain (28 years), a resident of Jatan Bari in Gomti, district, was apprehended in connection with the seizure.

The recovered contraband along with the apprehended individual was handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for further investigation and necessary legal proceedings.
