Assam Rifles hosts Student Exchange Programme linking Tripura and Assam

In a vibrant initiative to foster national integration, cultural awareness, and youth empowerment, the Assam Rifles organised a four‑day Student Exchange Programme for students of Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), Udaipur, Tripura, to Dima Hasao district, Assam, from July 27 to 30, 2026.

The student contingent was warmly received by the Assam Rifles battalion at Haflong, where they were briefed on the force’s history, ethos, and its multifaceted role in maintaining peace, security, and development across the Northeast. The programme was designed to give students an immersive experience of the region’s rich cultural heritage, historical significance, and natural beauty.

The itinerary included visits to Haflong Lake, the Circuit House, and the historic town of Maibang, offering students valuable insights into the district’s tourism potential and cultural legacy. They also visited the Office of the District Commissioner, where they learned about the functioning of district administration and various government departments.

As part of the exchange, students attended a Career Counselling and Motivational Lecture, alongside a weapon and equipment display, which provided them with exposure to opportunities and responsibilities beyond the classroom.

The programme concluded with heartfelt expressions of gratitude from students and teachers, who described the visit as both meaningful and memorable. They acknowledged the Assam Rifles for creating an experience that not only broadened their horizons but also deepened their sense of national belonging.
