Assam Rifles' Radhanagar Battalion brings healthcare to remote villagers with free medical camp

Reaffirming its commitment to community welfare, the Radhanagar Battalion of Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Kumarghat Press Club and Unakoti District Hospital, organized a Free Medical Camp at D M Colony, Fatikcherra ADC Village on Monday. 

The initiative delivered essential healthcare services directly to underserved communities, easing the burden of long-distance travel for basic treatment.

The camp benefited 464 villagers — including 164 men, 212 women, and 88 children — through comprehensive medical consultations. Special focus was placed on general health and eye care, with medical examinations, eye check-ups, and free distribution of essential medicines conducted by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

In addition to medical services, mosquito nets were distributed among villagers to promote preventive healthcare and protect against vector-borne diseases. The initiative proved particularly valuable for elderly residents, women, and children, many of whom have limited access to quality healthcare facilities.

By delivering timely medical assistance and promoting preventive measures, the camp strengthened the bond of trust between the Assam Rifles and the local community.
