New Delhi, Dec 5: The BJP Monday kickstarted it's two-day brain storming meet to discuss various topical issues and also upcoming Assembly elections, with Tripura being one of the states which will elect a new House early next year.
During the strategy session, senior party got busy in deliberating on strengthening the saffron party's presence at booth level.
Besides its national office-bearers, presidents and general secretaries (organisation) of the BJP's state units are also part of the meeting chaired by the party's national president JP Nadda.
The exercise assumes significance in the light of upcoming Assembly elections in
Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, besides Tripura.
These states will elect their new House ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
Hence, the party's future strategy, preparations for the next round of state assembly polls and various ongoing organisational activities are top on the agenda at the meeting, a senior party functionary said.
He said the meeting, being held in closed door, will also serve as a stock-taking exercise for leaders who are engaged in organisational works round the year.
The BJP has roped in various groups of leaders, including Union ministers, to further strengthen the party's presence, especially in places where it lost in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and is eying victory in 2024.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked party members to maintain direct connect with border villagers and said they should be developed as places that draw visitors.
He took the opportunity to tell the audience that India's presidency of the G-20 is a matter of pride for all citizens and it is an occasion to establish globally Indianness and its culture, former Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh quoted Modi as saying in his inaugural address.
