Auspicious “Bhai Dooj” celebrated in Tripura CM Dr Manik Saha takes part in the festival

Agartala Oct 26: On the occasion of “Bhai Dooj” Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha hailed PM Narendra Modi led BJP government for focusing on issues of women empowerment and women related crimes.
The Chief Minister’s comments came as hundreds of women gathered at his official residence on Wednesday to celebrate the festival of “Bhai Dooj”.
Considering Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha as their brother women from various mandals of the party across the city and others performed the “Bhai Phota” rituals.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Dr Saha said, “No administration will be required if all brothers take the pledge to make the state free from crime against women and encourage women empowerment”.
He added, with the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central and state government, women in Tripura are walking on the part of self reliance with the help of various schemes.
He also lauded the unprecedented development in terms of Self- Help Groups.
The festival of Bhai Phota, generally celebrated on the Dvitya or the second day after the Kali Puja, is a traditional festival and holds a special importance for brothers and sisters.
On this day, sisters apply vermilion and sandal paste tilaks on the foreheads of their brothers and pray for their prosperity and in return, the brothers shower their sisters with gifts and vow to protect them from evil forces.
