With the Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) scheduled for September 28, preparations have entered a decisive stage. The State Election Commission (SEC) has confirmed that ballot papers are now being printed and arrangements are in place for election personnel to cast their votes ahead of polling day.
SEC Secretary Anurag Sen announced that government officials and personnel assigned to election duties—including members of the civil administration, police, and Tripura State Rifles (TSR)—will be able to exercise their franchise on September 22 and 23. To avail this facility, officials must submit applications using Form 15, after which Returning Officers will issue the required ballot papers.
The Commission has already completed the first round of randomisation of polling personnel, followed by the initial phase of training. The second phase of training is expected to conclude by September 22, ensuring that staff are fully prepared for the multi‑level electoral exercise. Training sessions are being conducted across blocks in the state, focusing on procedures, security, and voter facilitation.
Ballot papers are currently being printed at the Government Press, where a dedicated team has been tasked with completing the work within the stipulated schedule. Officials emphasized that strict monitoring is in place to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of election materials.
The Village Committee elections will be held on September 28, with counting of votes scheduled for October 5. The SEC has intensified logistical preparations to guarantee smooth conduct of polling, including advance voting arrangements, training programmes, and ballot printing.
