Agartala Nov 16: “People have assigned me a huge responsibility and I will give my best to deliver the services to their doorsteps on a priority basis”, this was the statement of Dipak Majumder after he assumed the office of Mayor to the Agartala Municipal Corporation.

Complying with his statement, Dipak Majumder is visiting various ward areas under Agartala Municipal Corporation.

Wednesday, the Mayor visited Ward No 21 in Banamalipur assembly constituency.

He inspected the ongoing works there and also held talks with the locals while inquiring about their difficulties if any.

Addressing the reporters during his visit, Dipak Majumder said, “The work of renovating the local pond (Jora Pukur) including cleaning the pond and making it suitable for human use will be started within the next few days”.

“The CPI-M did not spend such amount in 10 years during their tenure which the Municipal Corporation under BJP-led state government has spend in just 10 months”, said Majumder.

The mayor added that the Municipal Corporation is working for the overall development of the city and the city dwellers.
