Biplab chairs first strategy meet in Tripura after becoming BJP National General Secretary

For the first time since assuming charge as the BJP’s National General Secretary, incumbent MP and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb held a high‑level meeting with the state party leadership at the BJP headquarters here on Monday night.

The meeting drew considerable enthusiasm among party workers and supporters, marking Deb’s return to the state in his new national role. Discussions centered on organisational affairs, upcoming programmes, and strategies to strengthen the BJP’s grassroots network in Tripura.

State BJP president Abhishek Debroy, along with senior leaders, attended the session. Debroy praised Deb’s organisational acumen, noting that effective politics requires both the ability to shoulder major responsibilities and the capacity to remain closely connected with party workers. He said Deb’s approach of maintaining direct contact with workers at different levels had played a pivotal role in expanding the BJP’s base in Tripura.

Debroy further remarked that leaders who work in coordination with colleagues and grassroots cadres can elevate an organisation to greater heights. He described the BJP’s growth in Tripura under Deb’s leadership as a significant chapter in the party’s history, adding that while leaders may eventually relinquish posts, their contributions remain integral to the organisation’s journey.

The meeting concluded with a strong emphasis on unity among leaders and workers, and on consolidating the party organisation ahead of future programmes and political activities.
