Biplab Deb urges people of Bengal to break fear of TMC goons

BJP Lok Sabha MP and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress while addressing the Parivartan Sankalp Yatra at Gopalpur in Rajarhat, Kolkata, alleging large-scale misgovernance, political intimidation and failure to protect Bengal’s cultural heritage.

Deb alleged, relatives of the Chief Minister and TMC leaders are destroying Bengal’s legacy, particularly tea gardens in Darjeeling. He further alleged that several idols of Maa Durga were vandalised across the state, but no strict action was taken in any of the incidents, reflecting what he termed as the administration’s indifference.

Highlighting women’s safety, Deb said Kolkata is the land of Devi Shakti Maa Dakshineswari and yet women are unsafe in the state, despite having a woman Chief Minister. He alleged that in cases of rape, proper investigations are not conducted and justice is denied to victims, which has created fear and insecurity among women.

Calling upon the people of Bengal to break free from what he described as TMC’s “hooliganism”, Deb urged voters to come out fearlessly in the upcoming elections to safeguard their democratic rights. He asserted that there is no place for goons in Bengal and appealed to the public not to bow down before TMC goons.

Deb assured that Prime Minister Narendra Modi stands firmly with the people of Bengal and that the BJP remains committed to ensuring safety, justice and development in the state.

Making a special appeal to Nari Shakti, Deb urged women to actively exercise their democratic rights to save Bengal and bring about a change, asserting that transformation is possible only when people rise against fear and injustice.
