BJP candidate injured in attack during campaign

BJP candidate for Pekerjaan-Janmejoy Nagar ADC constituency suffered injuries on Sunday after being attacked by miscreants.  He was campaigning at Nabashantiganja area when the miscreants launched an attack on him and BJP supporters present there.
According to police, a group armed with sharp weapons, sticks and iron rods allegedly attacked the candidate and his supporters, leaving several people injured.
Police said timely intervention by personnel from Takarjala police station helped prevent escalation of the situation. The injured were provided assistance, and Debbarma escaped with minor injuries.
The assailants also allegedly vandalised vehicles, including a police vehicle and several motorcycles, and damaged a local BJP office in the area.
Following the incident, additional security forces were deployed to maintain law and order. Police said an investigation has been initiated and efforts are underway to identify those involved.
