BJP protests Bengal violence, AITC office attacked

All India Trinamool Congress’s party state headquarters came under attack on Tuesday after a group of BJP supporters parted away from a protest rally to ransack the premises of the office. The BJP leaders, however, described the incident as an outburst of the resentment brewing among the party workers given the recent attacks on BJP MPs and MLAs in West Bengal.
Extending solidarity to the BJP workers of West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party Tripura Pradesh unit conducted a protest march in Agartala. Leaders and workers of the party’s different frontal wings, especially Yuva Morcha took to the streets condemning the political vengeance in West Bengal.
When the protest rally reached Motor Stand area, a section of the BJP activists launched an attack on the Trinamool Congress’s party state headquarters. However, BJP Sadar Urban District President Ashim Bhattacharjee and BJYM state President and MLA Sushanta Deb promptly swung into action and controlled the situation.
Barring a couple of flexes and flower tubs no major damage was meted out to the AITC headquarters.
Speaking to the media persons, BJP Sadar Urban District President Ashim Bhattacharjee said, “West Bengal is the land which gave birth to many stalwarts. Bengal played an instrumental role in the freedom struggle. It is regarded as the land of mystics, writers, authors and leaders. But, under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, Bengal has now emerged as a corridor for destroying the whole nation. The Hindus are under threat.”
According to Bhattacharjee, the dastardly attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Shankar Ghosh indicates that Trinamool has lost its support base. “Mamata Banerjee and her party are frightened of the growth of BJP. They can’t rely on people as they lost the confidence of the majority of voters. If people can exercise their voting rights, Mamata Banerjee’s whole empire will fall like a house of cards,” he added.
He also said that people of Tripura once extended their moral support to Trinamool Congress as it defeated CPIM to end a 35-year long misrule.
Meanwhile, All India Trinamool Congress also reacted sharply to the incident. “The violent attack on  @AITC4Tripura's office by BJP-backed goons is not an isolated act of aggression, it is an open assault on democracy. When those in power unleash violence to silence their opponents, they expose not strength, but fear and moral bankruptcy. The BJP talks about ‘saving democracy’ while burning its very foundations, state after state,” a social media post on the AITC’s official X handle reads.
The post further added: “They may destroy offices, tear posters, and intimidate workers — but they cannot destroy the spirit of resistance that lives in every Trinamool worker and every citizen who believes in justice. We will not be silenced. We will not back down. The people of Tripura and India are watching.”
