Agartala, March 24: With the commencement of the first assembly session of the second term of the BJP-IPFT coalition government in Tripura, the ruling BJP party hoped that the newly emerged main opposition party of the state – TIPRA Motha will cooperate with the government during the next five years.

Addressing a press conference here at the party office on Friday, the BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said, “This time Tripura witnessed a newly emerged TIPRA Motha regional political party as the main opposition to the ruling party. We hope that the opposition will cooperate with the government and its developmental works in the next five years for the welfare of the people of this state.”

“People of this state had rejected the people who did politics just merely because they needed to do politics and not for the welfare of the people. And with this TIPRA Motha emerged as the main opposition to the ruling BJP party,” he taunted the CPI(M) and the Congress party.

He said, “The BJP believes and hopes that the opposition will join hands with the government in building Tripura as a model state.”

The BJP party however congratulated the party MLA Biswabandhu Sen for being elected as the speaker of the state assembly and also congratulated TIPRA Motha MLA Animesh Debbarma for being elected as the leader of opposition.
