BJP sets January 19-20 timeline for national president election

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formally announced the schedule for the election of its national president, a key event under the party’s ongoing organizational campaign Sangathan Parv – 2024.

The announcement was made on Friday by Dr. K. Laxman, Rajya Sabha MP and National Returning Officer, through an official notification issued from the party’s central office in New Delhi.

According to the notification, the electoral roll was published on January 16, while the nomination process will take place on January 19, followed by scrutiny and withdrawal of nominations the same day. If required, voting will be held on January 20 between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM, after which the official declaration will be made. All proceedings are scheduled at the BJP headquarters, 6-A, Deendayal Upadhyay Marg, New Delhi.

The announcement comes as the party continues its organizational strengthening drive across the country. JP Nadda, who is currently serving as the national president of the BJP, has been at the helm since 2020, steering the party through several electoral battles and organizational expansions. The forthcoming election will determine the leadership that guides the BJP into its next phase of political and organizational challenges.

Dr. Laxman noted that the Sangathan Parv is steadily progressing toward its destination, and the election of the National President marks a significant milestone in this journey. The declaration has drawn attention from party workers and political observers nationwide, as the new president will play a pivotal role in shaping the BJP’s strategy and vision in the years ahead.
