Agartala, March 28: Reacting into the delay of the appointment of an interlocutor by the union government for the TIPRA Motha to deal with the constitutional solution, the CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Choudhury on Tuesday slammed the ruling BJP party and said, “The BJP’s political philosophy has no space of indigenous, Adivasis or marginalized people.”
“The appointment of interlocutor was supposed to be made by March 27 last, but nothing is done yet from the Centre,” he said, adding that this is how the BJP pitches high with false assurances before vote.
The CPI(M) MLA Choudhury said, “In a tie up, the TIPRA Motha was seated by the BJP in ADC in the previous election and this time too we have seen that in the name of an interlocutor the TIPRA Motha is seated.”
“Interlocutor may be appointed today or tomorrow, but nothing is going to happen for the welfare of the indigenous tribes of the state or for the development of the ADC in Tripura,” he added.
Choudhury also said, “While the TIPRA Motha MLA Animesh Debbarma proposed and was the seconder of our support for Congress MLA Gopal Ray as the nominated speaker of the assembly on March 23 last, we could hear that union home minister Amit Shah had called Motha chairman Pradyot to assure that interlocutor will be appointed by March 27. In this case also where the election of the speaker was concerned, we could see that the home minister intervened on it to divide the unity of the opposition.”
On the other hand, Choudhury on Monday slammed the BJP and said, “BJP has continued their “jungle raj” inside the house and outside the house as well.”
“The rule of law of the assembly is being violated, where the speaker of the assembly was found to have rejected our given reference on the very first day of the assembly session saying that it was a sub judice matter. The speaker did not allow discussions on calling attention of our party MLA Shyamal Chakraborty to the problems which workers in different sectors, and drivers were facing after the declaration of election result on March 2 last,” he said.
Choudhury also accused the speaker of the assembly of disallowing calling attention for discussion about the terminated 10, 323 teachers on Monday.
He also lashed out at the state power minister Ratan Lal Nath and alleged, “How could some minister be so unruly inside the assembly, where he said whatever the Chief Minister is saying, opposition parties have to accept it. This is how the BJP is continuing its jungle raj inside the assembly like they are accustomed to outside the assembly.”
He however alleged of large scale of violence after the poll result declaration on March 2 and said, “More than 600 persons have been injured, around 80 houses have been fully damaged, 67 houses have been partially vandalized, 1647 shops have been burnt to ashes, ransacked, many rubber plantations have been gutted in fire, while 10 CPI(M) party offices were set ablaze newly this time.”
