Blood crisis: Yuva Morcha responds to CM's appeal, conducts blood donation camps

Agartala, Mar 21: Most of the Hospitals in the State are facing acute blood crises for the last few months. Patients, especially in rural areas are suffering a lot owing to empty blood banks. Voluntary blood donation is the main source of blood for the blood banks – however, such camps could not be organized in adequate numbers owing to Assembly Polls.
Now, that the polls are over and the new Government has taken charge, emphasis has been laid on organizing blood donation camps across the State. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha appealed to all to come forward and donate blood to overcome the crisis.
Accordingly, several organizations including Government employees are conducting such camps to collect blood and mitigate the crisis.
On Tuesday, Yuva Morcha Sadar (Town) organized a blood donation camp in its election office at Agartala. The Chief Minister inaugurated the camp and encouraged the volunteers.
Meantime, in other parts of the State also different organizations held blood donation camps in respective areas today.
Our Khowai correspondent adds: The health delivery system in Khowai District Hospital is facing great difficulties due to a blood crisis. Even conducting Caesarean Operations has become difficult. In view of such a situation, Khowai District Yuva Morcha organized a blood donation camp in Khowai today. Total 20 volunteers donated blood in today’s camp. Khowai BJP Yuva Morcha president Satyajit Pal said more such camps will be held in the coming days to solve the blood crisis.
Our Udaipur correspondent adds: Responding to appeals made by the Chief Minister, BJP’s Gomati District Yuva Morcha organized a blood donation camp in Udaipur today. Minister of Finance department Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the camp. Total 103 including seven women donated blood in today’s camp.
