A group of notorious thieves carried out a midnight heist at the Birchandra Manu Agricultural Science Center on Saturday. The gang forced entry by breaking a window, looted office equipment, and stole an official Bolero vehicle (registration number TR 08 0921) after seizing its keys from inside the premises.
Â
The incident has sparked outrage as the theft occurred despite the presence of a night guard. Questions are now being raised about lapses in security and possible insider involvement. Employees reported the matter to Manpathar Police Station, where officers promptly inspected the site and launched a search operation to recover the stolen vehicle and apprehend the culprits.
Â
Rumors within the office point to a driver named Suman as a possible suspect, fueling speculation that the crime may have been facilitated from within. Locals believe such a daring operation would be impossible without internal cooperation.
Â
Police investigations are ongoing, and residents await clarity as the gang continues its wave of thefts across the state, leaving communities increasingly anxious about safety.
