Brilliant Birajit powers Jamjuri to victory

Birajit Das produced a fiery bowling spell in the Prasenjit Memorial Senior Club League Cricket tournament organized by the Subdivision Cricket Association and helped Jamjuri Play Centre to begin their campaign with a win defeating Ramesh Coaching Centre by 90 runs. The match was held at Jamjuri School ground on Saturday.

Birajit claimed six wickets for the winning side. Earlier, after winning the toss and batting first, Jamjuri Coaching Centre scored 222 runs. For the team, Subir Baidya made 42 off 62 balls with four boundaries and one six, Pradip Das scored 41 off 17 balls with eight boundaries and one six, captain Krishan Das added 41 off 24 balls with six boundaries and one six, Shayan Pal made 26 off 24 balls with one boundary and three sixes, and Prasenjit Chandra Dey scored 18 off 40 balls with three boundaries. The team got 31 runs in extras.

For Ramesh Coaching Centre, Uttam Das took three wickets for 42 runs, while Sujan Das and Bappa Karmakar picked up two wickets each conceding 33 runs each.

In reply, Ramesh Coaching Centre could manage only 132 runs against Birajit’s fiery bowling. For the team, Narayan Sarkar scored 31 off 42 balls with two boundaries and two sixes, Sujan Das made 28 off 24 balls with three boundaries and two sixes, and Palash Pal added 15 off 19 balls with two boundaries. For Jamjuri Play Centre, Birajit Das took six wickets for 24 runs.
