The Bru Songrongma Mthoh and its branch organizations will launch indefinite road blockades at three places of Kanchanpur sub-division in Tripura from Tuesday.

They decided to stage blockades on Damcherra to Hmunpui road, Kanchanpur to Hmunpui road and Ananda Bazar to Konpui road respectively.

The protest aims at pressing for three demands including arrest of persons involved in communal violence and permission to reconstruct Shivrai Khong temple at Jampui Hills.

The Bru Songrongma Mthoh initiated the agitation along with its branch organizations like Bru Choudhary Mthoh, Bru Juwaing Mthoh, Bru Karmachari Mthoh and Bru Broi Mthoh.

The organization alleged that it had planned to visit Shivrai Khong/ Belianchip at Jammu Hills but the Mizo Community had called an indefinite strike to thwart the move.

Baba Joy Reang, vice-president of Bru Songrouma Mthoh appealed to co-operate the organization for maintaining the law and order.
