Cannabis plantation destroyed in Tripura's Thalibari ADC Village

Police from Jatrapur Police Station continued their crackdown on illegal cannabis cultivation in Tripura.

On Saturday morning, approximately 7,000 cannabis plants were destroyed across four plots in the forested area of Thalibari ADC Village, according to OC Siti Kantha Bardhan.

This marks the eighth such operation this season, amid a reported rise in cannabis plantations across the Sonamura subdivision.

Acting on a tip-off, the OC led a team including Sub-Inspector Bijoy Chakraborty, ASIs Tapan Debnath and Kafurai Debbarma, along with TSR jawans, to the site and carried out the destruction without incident.

The OC stated that such operations will continue under directives from higher authorities.
