Cash haul from police constable's house, TSR trooper, constable suspended

Huge amount of cash was seized from the residence of a police constable prompting the police department to order a high-level probe under the watch of a DIG-rank officer. According to police sources, several TSR and Police personnel are being investigated for their alleged links with the case. 

In order to ensure an impartial probe, Police constable Piyush Debbarma, posted in Dhalai district, has been placed under suspension following the incident. Police also detained his wife along with a female employee of the Health Department for interrogation as part of the ongoing probe.

Meanwhile, the investigation took a new turn after another video linked to the case surfaced on social media. In the footage, TSR jawan Ajit Debbarma, attached to the 14th TSR Battalion, is allegedly seen keeping cash inside plastic packets.

A woman constable from East Women Police Station and another TSR personnel from the 7th Battalion were present at the location during the incident. All individuals appearing in the video are currently being questioned by the police.

On the other hand, three tribal women were seen in a different video alleging that the wife of one police constable took money from them in huge amounts in the name of investment in a private run bank and in the later course of time, the accused woman refused to identify them and stopped picking their call.

The recovery of the cash and the emergence of the video has raised several questions. The police are currently trying to ascertain the source of the money.
