Census 2027: DM West Tripura bats for self-enumeration

West Tripura District Magistrate Dr Vishal Kumar on Tuesday said that the government officials of the different departments had been encouraged to participate in the self-enumeration exercise of the first phase of census operations 2027. 

Briefing the media persons on the census 2027, Dr Kumar said, “The houselisting survey which constitutes the first phase of census operations 2027 will be conducted between August 01 to August 31. But, self-enumeration has been introduced as a unique feature for this year’s census operations. The self-enumeration portal will be available for public use from July 17. It will be operational till July 31. In this window, the public can access the website and fill the 34 columns questionnaire.” 

According to the District Magistrate, this will ease the burden on the enumerators. “After the self-enumeration, the enumerators will visit the house and verify the data fed in the system. That data will be uploaded as final data. Otherwise, the enumerator has to himself fill the data. This is a unique feature and we have advised all our government officials to opt for self-enumeration in the houselighting exercise,” said Dr Kumar.  

He also urged the people to share genuine feedback with the administration so that remedial measures if required could be undertaken promptly.
