Centre to hold meetings with TIPRA Motha; Pradyot stresses on ‘written assurance’

Agartala Jan 25: With TIPRA Motha Supremo Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman already in Delhi, a delegation of top Motha leaders on Wednesday flied to the national capital for crucial meetings on constitutional solution to the demand of ‘Greater Tipraland’.
TIPRA president Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhal, senior party leaders Animesh Debbarma, Chitta Debbarma, Mevar Kumar Jamatia among others were spotted at the MBB Airport Agartala as they headed for Delhi after receiving the invitation from Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
Speaking to the reporters, Animesh Debbarma said, “Having received call from the Chairman TIPRA Motha and also Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sharma it seems like the Union Ministry is finally sympathetic enough to solve the problems of Tiprasa people”.
“Home Ministry is serious about addressing to our demands of Constitutional solution and Greater Tipraland”, he added.
Meanwhile, TIPRA Motha Chairman Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman claimed that they are still honouring the demand of ‘Greater Tipraland’ and will go to the polls with BJP only after receiving written assurance from the other side.
In his social media post, Pradyot wrote, “Contrary to rumours there has been NO talks of seat sharing as reported with any party! We have received intimation from ministry of home affairs that they would like to talk to us on our demand for a constitutional solution to our demand of Greater Tipraland . We have repeatedly said UNTIL we don't get a written assurances from GOI on the constitutional solution of our demand we will not go in for any alliance leave alone seat sharing. Please don't jump the gun and relax - we know how to negotiate for our people to the maximum”.
