CM greets all concerned, clubs for peaceful festival

The grand celebration of Durga Puja has come to an end and the state is ready to celebrate Lakshmi Puja on Sunday.

Though the festive spirit is still alive in some pockets, the majority of the puja organizers have already completed the immersion of idols.

According to a police report, 2729 out of the total 2983 puja organizers—706 in West Tripura district -- completed the immersion till Saturday night. The immersion process of a few idols at various locations including Teliamura was undertaken on Sunday.

The Durga Puja passed off peacefully across the state except for some stray incidents.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has greeted all concerned security and other staff, clubs and general public for the peaceful celebration of Durga Puja.

This year, the security arrangements in the Agartala city and other parts were by and large appreciated by the people, though some traffic issues occurred on Carnival night. The movement of the pandal hoppers was visibly smooth during the festival in the city.

In case of any issues, the security personnel ensured prompt action.

The Chief Minister, in a social media post, categorically thanked all the staff of security personnel and other emergency services for their tireless efforts in smooth conduct of the Durga Puja and ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order.
