Agartala, Sept 02: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday reviewed the overall progress including infrastructure development of Agartala Government Dental College.
In the meeting held in the Chief Minister's War Room of Tripura Institution for Transformation, the Chief Minister held elaborate discussions on various aspects including its infrastructure development, construction of a 250-seated hostel for boys and girls, admission of economically weaker students and the provision of a dental van for the college.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of adhering to the rules and guidelines set by the Dental Council of India to ensure the overall improvement of the college.
He also stressed the necessity of making the PRTC mandatory for recruitment in various positions. However, he noted that if qualified candidates are not available within the state, the requirement of PRTC may be considered.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to implement all measures before the Dental Council of India’s inspection in the college.
The meeting included a detailed discussion on the academic and infrastructural aspects of the Agartala Government Dental College, presented by the Health Secretary Kiran Gitte.
Dr. Shalu Rai, Principal of Agartala Government Dental College, Dr. Tapan Majumdar, Principal in-charge of Agartala Government Medical College, Dr. Sanjib Debbarma, Director of Tripura Health Services, Dr. Sankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital, and Rajiv Debbarma, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department were present.
