Cong organizes civil disobedience movement in Dharmanagar, 213 arrested

Dharmanagar Aug 05: As a part of the nationwide movement of Indian National Congress, Civil Disobedience movement was organized in Dharmangar along with the rest of the state on Friday.
A rally started from the front of Congress bhavan and traversed through the Kalibari Dighi on its way to the district magistrate's office, first breaking through a police barricade, and while breaking the second barricade, all the agitators were arrested by police.
A total of 213 people were arrested and kept in Ardhendu Bhattacharya Bhavan.
The main objective of the program was based on demands such as providing employment to the unemployed, cancellation of fire bill, controlling the increasing prices of essential commodities and many more.
Senior Congress leader Advocate Ajit Das, Block Congress President Parimal Chakraborty, District Youth Congress President Nirupan Dey, Congress leader Kebal Kanti Nandi, Kankaj K and others were present in the movement on behalf of Congress.
