
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has announced the appointment of new presidents for the District Congress Committees (DCCs) in Tripura as part of an organisational restructuring aimed at strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
In an official communication issued from the AICC headquarters in New Delhi and signed by AICC General Secretary in charge of organisation, K. C. Venugopal, the party named office-bearers for nine district units across the state.
According to the list, Shri Jacob Rokhum has been appointed president of the Ambassa DCC, while Ms. Shampa Datta will head the Belonia DCC. Shri Gopinath Saha has been named president of the Bishalgarh DCC and Shri Nirupam Dey will lead the Dharmanagar DCC.
For Kailashahar, Md. Badrujaman has been appointed DCC president, with Satyaban Das designated as the Working President. Tanmay Roy has been named president of the Sadar DCC, while Rosan Ali will head the Sonamura DCC.
The party has also appointed Pradyot Bhattacharjee as president of the Teliamura DCC and Tapan Paul as president of the Udaipur DCC.
The appointments come at a time when the Congress is seeking to revitalise its organisational structure in Tripura ahead of future political challenges.Â
