Sabroom, Nov 10: The CPI-M party’s all India youth leader Minakshi Mukherjee Thursday slammed the ruling BJP party in Tripura over attack on the party cadres and called to intensify resistance against the motorbike-forces on every booth of the state ahead of the crucial 2023 assembly elections.
Minakshi was addressing a gathering of youth supporters of the CPI-M party at Sabroom Melarmath.
“The CPI-M’s fight is not for the 2023 election in Tripura, but the fight is to resist the BJP’s ‘jumlabaji’ across the country in 2024,” she said, adding that apart from this the entire country including the West Bengal is eyeing on the 2023 assembly election in Tripura, where the youths are being deprived and attacked at large.
She said, “A section of youths were tempted towards the BJP in the 2018 election last and voted for the BJP, but now those youths have understood the ‘jumlabaji’ of the BJP. This time those youths not only in Tripura, but also in West Bengal and across the country will turn over to leave no land for the BJP.”
The youth leader continued lambasting the BJP government and said, “What we want is employment and nothing else, because employment can enhance the livelihood of the youths. But this BJP doesn't want employment for our youths. If missed calls are unable to find love, how can this provide employment? This BJP is a missed call party.”
“The BJP questions the existence of the CPI-M party. But the fact is Tripura is going for election in 2023 not to find out the existence of the BJP, but to question BJP about their 299 pre-poll promises made before the 2018 election in Tripura,” she said.
On the other hand, the CPI-M state secretary Jitendra Choudhuri addressed the mass gathering of the youths at Sabroom and said, “This fascistic BJP government needs to be ousted as our youths are being deprived and attacked at large. We are fighting to restore democracy and take Tripura to the wheels of development.”
“At a time when the Prime Minister of this country has destroyed the life of the youths, on the other hand the BJP here in Tripura is slogging for ‘Ghare Ghare Susashan’. During the last four and half years of this BJP government democracy was attacked and the voice of the people of this state were throttled,” he said.
He however questioned the credibility of the BJP government over strengthening ties with the neighboring Bangladesh and claimed, “It was the then Left front government which managed to convince the Bangladesh Prime Minister to construct a bridge over River Feni and setting up of Integrated Check Post in Sabroom. But what BJP has done is nothing but delayed the project works which were supposed to be completed by two years.”
The CPI-M leader however appealed to the people of this state to wave the flag of democracy by ousting the BJP from power in the ensuing 2023 assembly election.
