Dedication, integrity towards duty keys to earn respect, recognition: Tripura CM

After successfully completing 12 months of intensive training, 469 newly recruited Constables of the 92nd Batch and one newly recruited Rifleman of the 15th Battalion formally became members of Tripura Police on Saturday.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended the ceremonial Passing Out Parade held at R.K. Nagar as the Chief Guest.

Congratulating all the newly inducted police personnel, the Chief Minister said that dedication and integrity towards duty are the keys to earning both respect and recognition in society.

He expressed confidence that the professionalism, honesty, commitment and humanitarian approach of the newly recruited personnel would further enhance the image and reputation of the Tripura Police as they embark on this new journey.

The Chief Minister said that the Tripura Police has a glorious legacy and a rich history. The state's administrative and policing system dates back to the erstwhile princely era.

As early as the 13th century, the kings of Tripura had established an organised administrative and policing system. The present organisational structure of the Tripura Police took shape in 1965, he noted.

He said that the state government is working tirelessly to transform the Tripura Police into a more modern, technology-driven, efficient and people-friendly force in line with the changing needs of the time.

The Chief Minister also emphasized that, besides maintaining law and order, the police have an equally important responsibility to earn the trust and confidence of the people through dedicated and compassionate service.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Director General of Police Anurag, Home Secretary Abhishek Singh, and other senior officers of the police and civil administration.
