Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 to showcase state's investment potential, CM says after review

The two-day Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026 is set to begin on July 9 at the Hapania International Fair Ground, with the state government targeting investment proposals worth nearly Rs. 1 lakh crore across key sectors.

Ahead of the event, a review meeting was held today at the auditorium of the venue under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of attracting domestic and foreign investment to boost employment opportunities, increase per capita income and strengthen the state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).

He stated that such business summits play a significant role in achieving these objectives and noted that this is the first time Tripura is hosting a business conclave on such a large scale. He said the country is undergoing transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has encouraged a work culture focused on national welfare among both public representatives and government employees.

Referring to the successful organization of events such as the G-20 meetings and the North Eastern Council plenary session, Dr. Saha said that officials and employees across departments had worked together as "Team Tripura" and expressed confidence that the upcoming conclave would also be a success through collective efforts.

The Chief Minister informed the meeting that the state is aiming to attract investment worth around Rs. 1 lakh crore this year, with major opportunities expected in health, education, information technology, transport and tourism sectors.

He also highlighted that MoUs worth approximately Rs. 30,000 crore were signed during last year's conclave, out of which projects worth Rs. 8,000 crore have already begun implementation at the ground level. He also offered several suggestions to officials to ensure the successful execution of the event.

Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha said the successful conduct of the event would significantly enhance Tripura's profile both nationally and internationally.

Providing an overview of the conclave, Industries and Commerce Secretary Kiran Gitte said the event will commence on the afternoon of July 9. The inaugural session will be attended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Union DONER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and members of the state cabinet.

More than 20 exhibition stalls representing various state departments and central public sector undertakings will be set up at the venue.

Around 500 delegates from India and abroad are expected to participate in the conclave. Embassies, High Commissions and consultants from several countries have been invited, with representatives from Bangladesh, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Nepal and Uzbekistan already confirming participation. Representatives from Russia and Indonesia have also shown interest in participation.

The conclave will focus on sectors including health, tourism, education, logistics, information technology, renewable energy, real estate, food processing and industries based on tea, rubber and agar products. Apart from departmental exhibitions, the event will feature direct interactions between delegates and the Chief Minister and ministers, round-table dinners, sectoral presentations, discussions on business and economic reforms, and MoU signing ceremonies.

The conclave is being organized in partnership with and supported by FICCI and Invest India.

He noted that the state currently ranks first in the country in legal simplification measures across several sectors, adding that central-level officials are also likely to participate to assess its impact.

MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, Director General of Police Anurag, Principal Secretary Santanu and senior officials from various departments also attended the review meeting. Earlier, the Chief Minister visited the exhibition stalls under construction and offered necessary suggestions regarding preparations.
