Dhruvajyoti defeated three chess player of Bangladesh

Agartala, Aug 13: Unrated Dhruvjyoti Rakshit, a former student of FIDE master Prasenjit Dutta, defeated Bangladesh's rated chess players.
Tripura Dhruvajyoti faced Bangladesh's rated chess player SC Shekhar on board number 51 in the 2nd year 'Aparna Dutta' Memorial International Rating Chess Competition organized by Metrics Chess Academy.
The 6-day event started from Saturday at Yoga Hall of NSRCC in collaboration with Manoranjan Dey Trust.
Dhruvajyoti, the only son of Amalendu Rakshit and late Latika Daar lives at Waldorf in Germany.
Software engineer Dhruvajyoti returned to Agartala after almost 20 years and took part in this year's event.
Apart from him, Swarnadeep Majumdar among the chess players in the state also gave a surprise on this day.
He stopped 1685 rated chess player Kishore Sajjad. The last surprise of the day was given by Siddharth Majumdar, a student of Melaghar branch of Metrics Chess Academy. In just 3 months of training, the school chess player Siddharth defeated Gopal Tamang of the rated chess state.
On the first day, all the top local chess players also won. Chess grandmaster Newris and Rius won the day quite easily. The second round was played at 9:30 am on Saturday and the third was scheduled to play at 3:30 pm.
