A district-level meeting with representatives of recognised political parties and election officials was held here on Thursday to discuss the draft list of polling stations for the ensuing General Election to Municipalities-2026.

The meeting, held at the Office of the District Magistrate and Collector, West Tripura, was attended by representatives of national and state recognised political parties, Returning Officers (ROs), the Additional District Magistrate and Collector, and Sub-Divisional Magistrates of West Tripura district.

The discussions focused on the draft polling station list prepared in connection with the municipal elections covering Agartala Municipal Corporation, Mohanpur Municipal Council, Ranirbazar Municipal Council and Jirania Nagar Panchayat.

The meeting provided a platform for the concerned stakeholders to examine the proposed polling station arrangements and raise issues or offer suggestions ahead of the finalisation of the list.

The district administration has separately invited objections and suggestions on the draft polling station list from September 17 to September 21 under Rule 7 of the Tripura Municipalities (Registration of Electors) Rules, 1995.

Copies of the draft list have been made available for inspection at the offices of the District Magistrate and Collector, concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrates, municipal bodies and tehsil offices.

The meeting formed part of the district administration's preparations for the smooth and effective conduct of the municipal election process.
