The Government of Tripura has appointed Dilip Kumar Chakma, a retired civil servant, as the new Chairman of Tripura Public Service Commission. Chakma is currently holding the charge of Commissioner Agartala of Municipal Corporation.
He will replace Colonel Kush Kumar Sharma, who had recently found himself entangled in a controversy after misbehaving with a minister and security officials in an inebriated condition. Shortly after the incident, Colonel Sharma met Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu and tendered his resignation.
A notification issues by the General Administration Department of Tripura in this regard read, “In pursuance of Article 316 of the Constitution of India, the Governor is pleased to appoint Shri Dilip Kumar Chakma, IAS (retired), as Chairman, Tripura Public Service Commission, w.e.f. the date he takes over the charge.”
